Posted on 07.04.2018
Using a short-term career training program doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice career advancement later on.
For those looking into long-term and stable careers in healthcare, medical coding & billing is a great career option With medical coding and billing certification, you can start working without needing a degree, but still take advantage of plenty of opportunities later on to move up the career ladder.
As an entry-level medical coder, you’ll need CCA and CPC entry-level credentials along with an HIM or coding certificate. With a certificate in medical coding and billing you can be working in a year or less. Landing the right gig, you could be earning about $40,000 depending on your area and the position. From there, as you gain experience and possibly more education, there are many opportunities to move up to other positions related to inpatient medical coding or even management positions.
In the right position, you’ll be able to invest time and effort into your career, allowing you to climb the corporate ladder and work your way through new and improved positions. The longer you work, the better the benefits!

May 3, 2018 at 10:10 amAndrea, Are you interested in more information on our Medical Coding and Billing program or the medical coding career?
Our Medical Coding and Billing program is entirely online, so students are able to work at their own pace and can train for medical coding in as little as 4 months. The course includes 640 hours of curriculum, so the 4-month timeframe only applies if you can commit to studying full time. Because the online format of our program allows students to study at the pace and on the schedule that works for them, most of our students study part-time and finish the Medical Coding and Billing course in about 9-12 months. When you enroll you will receive 12 months of course access to ensure you have the time you need. The tuition fee of $3,699 covers 12 months of course access, one-on-one help from instructors, and graduate assistance to help you turn your education into a job after graduation. We have had many new moms successfully take our programs, but it really depends on you. Please feel free to click the link above for more information or contact our Academic Advisors directly at 1-800-411-7073 with any questions you might have.
